MISTRESS OF CEREMONIES
Toni Miles is a reporter with WXXV News 25, the NBC and FOX affiliates TV news station in Gulfport, Mississippi. Toni started working at WXXV News 25 in December of 2013, just three months after the news was launched. She has served as Assignment Editor, anchored for nearly two years, worked as a reporter for several years, was morning news manager, hosted Coastal Connections for more than four years and now is back out in the field reporting, covering stories that matter to the local community in South Mississippi. Toni graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern Mississippi where she was editor of the Student Printz. She then did an internship on Capitol Hill, working for a U.S. Senator, then returned to Mississippi as a reporter at WDAM in Hattiesburg. After that, she moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, working as a reporter for FOX 25 in Biloxi, then crossing city lines to work at WLOX-TV news in Biloxi, starting out as a producer, then working as a photographer, reporter, weekend assignment editor and weekend anchor. She was among the station team that won the Edward Murrow and Peabody awards for coverage during Hurricane Katrina. Toni moved to the Lone Star State where she worked as the morning and noon anchor, investigative reporter and live shot reporter for KZTV Action 10 News, then KRIS TV News in Corpus Christi, Texas. Toni moved back to the Magnolia State to be with and take care of her family, working as a multi-media journalist and fill-in anchor at WDBD Fox 40 news in Jackson. After almost completing a second degree in filmmaking at the University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast, Toni transitioned back to news at News 25. Toni is blessed to have a wonderful support network of close family, friends and mentors, and she hopes to pay it forward. She has a three-legged chiweenie named Rocky Balboa because of his fighting spirit. She loves writing and has completed a novel that has been adapted into a screenplay, and has just finished another screenplay called "Delta Rose." She's currently working on a new legal thriller called "Fall From Grace," a sequel to the novel and screenplay “Deadly Silence.” Stay tuned....
Sara Jo Burks
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR/CONTESTANT LIAISON
Sara Jo Burks is no stranger to pageants. She has served as Awards Chairman, Director, Judge and Coach. She is a Miss Alabama preliminary director, Outstanding Teen preliminary director, and she has directed Ms. Venus, Rising Star, and the Miss Troy Pageants, and was named Miss Alabama’s Director of the Year in 2007. She also serves as Administrator for the Ms. Senior Alabama Pageant. She has judged pageants throughout the Southeast and enjoys preparing contestants from ages 4 to Senior for their pageant competitions. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Troy University where she received both her BS in Business and her MBA. She has taught Management at the prestigious Sorrell College of Business at Troy University and was the Assistant Director of Housing and Residence life until her retirement in June 2019. She has served as the House Mother for Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity for over 20 years, counseling young men with life decisions and was featured in their national magazine, “The Cross and the Crescent”. Mrs. Burks has used her Management skills to help young women gain the confidence to compete and to earn scholarship money. Some of her former winners have appeared on The Voice and have entertained professionally. She speaks at Retirement Homes, Boys & Girls Clubs and Women’s Organizations about her own personal story and encourages her audience to set goals. Her two platforms, which she developed, are “From Hand-Me-Downs to Evening Gowns” and “GOALS”. She has appeared on numerous television and radio shows to talk about her Senior Pageant experience. Her pageant titles include; Ms. Senior Pike County, Ms. Senior Shelby County, Ms. Senior Heart of Dixie and Ms. Senior Troy. Mrs. Burks competed and was crowned Ms. Senior Alabama 2017 and won Ms. Senior USA in 2018 and placed as 3rd Runner Up to Ms. Senior Universe. Sara Jo is the only Senior Queen to have been featured on the cover of Pageantry Magazine! Most of her weekends include judging a pageant or attending a pageant to support one of “her girls” or entertaining at a local event. Mrs. Burks believes “You are never too old, and it’s never too late”. She is excited to serve as Contestant Consultant and Co-Director for the Ms. Senior World Pageant. This is only the beginning for our senior ladies, we aim to show the whole WORLD what we can do!
Rosanna Iversen-Berdahl Often described as effervescent, optimistic, and loyal, “Ro” enthusiastically pursues her passions in the worlds of business, entertainment, sports, pageantry, and animal rescue. Partner of Pono Burger, Zagat’s number one rated Los Angeles based burger lounge; Wabi on Rose, arguably LA’s best sushi restaurant; soon-to-be-open Sunset Blvd. supper club, The Classic Cat; and owner of Jersey Mike’s Subs Colorado franchises, Ro has a penchant for exceeding customers’ expectations, and providing memorable experiences for guests and employees alike. Modeling with Ford in NYC led to acting in television commercials, onto film and TV in Hollywood, as well as film producing. Currently a Tae Kwon Do and Extreme Martial Arts Black Belt and PanAmerican/World Champion sword competitor, Ro has also achieved championships in Freestyle Skiing, Triathlons, Swimming, and Horsemanship. Mom to two beautiful young men, C.J. and Bryton, and wife to a handsome, loving and supportive man, Donn Delos, Rosanna is grateful beyond measure to have held numerous pageant titles, including Boston’s Look of the Year, the national title Look of the Year, Miss Massachusetts USA, and National Mrs. California. Her greatest passions however, are giving back to those who have supported her, those who need a leg up, and those who don’t have a voice of their own…animals, specifically dogs and cats falling victim to the heinous Asian live meat markets. Ro is thrilled to support her dear friend Sherry in this tremendous intitiative of such great value to ladies 50 and over, and to meet many new friends in the process!
Betty Aden, our energetic 78-year-old serves as our Official Choreographer for the MS Senior World Pageants. A former Ole Miss Rebelette, Betty graduated with a degree in Physical Education/Dance and went on to obtain her masters from Delta State University. She coached the track team in Greenwood, Ms., and won four state championships. Betty started a Jazz Dance Classic which was a weekend dance workshop and competition. Over 300 dancers from the surrounding states attended. After retiring, Betty continues to host the Betty Aden Dance Camp for 38 years. Betty’s first pageant experience was at the age of 72. She competed and won MS Senior Mississippi America in 2013 and competed in Atlantic City. At the age of 75, she won the title of MS Super Senior Universe 2018. Betty enjoyed meeting energetic, talented women and feels being in pageants has been so exciting. “I never would have made so many great friends and participated in such a variety of activities. All ladies need to do this, It’s Fun!!!” Betty’s honors include Pride of Teaching Award, Dance Educator of the Year Among Colleges and Universities; Dance presentations at Conventions around the Southern States; MDCC Sports Hall of Fame Spirit Award. She also0 choreographed numerous Little Theater Musicals. She is also a 24 year Breast Cancer Survivor. Betty’s moto: “I live to Dance and Dance to live.”
Rita Bienman Green
Rita Blenman Green is a Biloxi native with ties to the Gulf Coast market of the US. She attended both the University of Southern Mississippi and the University of New Orleans with focuses in Business and Psychology. She is a Marketing and Hospitality enthusiast with over 15 years in the hospitality and corporate industries combined. She is currently Group Sales Manager of Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort, Chief Visionary Officer of Diamond Ambitions, and new owner of Geaux Fig Executive Admin Services. Aside from being a mother of four with aspirations of contributing to the business and economic development of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, she longs to be an author of a series of adventure novels. Although she has won several awards and accolades, her true rewards are measured in the lives she touches in her community, her country, and the world. She sees the sky as the limit which is why she chooses to focus upon the infinity of the universe.
Tracy Mitchell Guthrie
Tracy Mitchell Guthrie is a well-known pageant title holder, national title holder and host of numerous television commercials out of New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the host for the popular, “Louisiana Sportsmen,” show for many years. Tracy is a former Mrs. New Orleans, Mrs. Louisiana United States, Mrs. Louisiana Sportsmen and Mrs. Intercontinental 2004 as well as a former Treasure the Mermaid. She enjoys bowfishing, gardening and especially her family of 5 children and her role as a grandmother. Tracy has served pageantry in every aspect. Judge, Mistress of Ceremonies as well as state director. She and husband Robert, reside in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana.
Tracy will be among our pageant staff assisting our delegates as well as the MS Senior World pageant activities throughout our week.
