My Platform:
My platform is "Empowerment through Music, Mentorship, Education & Movement". I proudly attended and graduated from an HBCU and studied Education because I’ve always had a heart for teaching and uplifting others. While my professional path led me into the creative world of music and entertainment, my passion for education has never left me. I continue to find ways to pour into young people and create spaces where voices are heard, talents are nurtured, and dreams are possible. Whether I’m DJing a major event, mentoring students, or using my platform to motivate others, I show up with purpose, passion, and positivity. I believe in using my gifts to inspire and lead by example, especially for women and youth who need to see what resilience and joy look like in real time. My platform isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am.
My #1 priority in life:
My number one priority in life? Live each moment like it’s my last! I’m always intentionally seeking out something new—whether it’s doing something I’ve never done, going somewhere I’ve never been, or meeting someone who will add to my story. Everything is an experience, and every moment is a chance to add another chapter to “MY BOOKS!” Life isn’t about just going through the motions; it’s about grabbing every opportunity with both hands, making the most of every chance to grow, learn, and create memories. I’m here to leave no stone unturned, no dream unexplored, and no experience wasted. I’m out here living BIG—embracing the unknown, chasing the wild, and building my legacy one incredible moment at a time. Every day is a new adventure, and I’m here for all of it!
My description of today's senior woman:
Today’s senior woman is powerful, poised, and unapologetically herself. She’s lived, loved, and led—with grace and grit. Her style is timeless, her wisdom deep, and her voice strong. She embraces her age not as a limitation, but as a celebration of survival, resilience, and purpose. No longer confined to outdated stereotypes, she is active, bold, and fully present in her passions—whether that’s mentoring, traveling, creating, or continuing to break barriers. She walks with the confidence of experience and the radiance of a woman who knows who she is. Today’s senior woman is still learning, still laughing, still loving life—and most importantly, still leading. She sets trends, speaks truth, and pours into others with the strength of a nurturer and the fire of a queen. She is the past, present, and future—a living legacy. Simply put, she’s not winding down; she’s just getting started!

My Platform:
My platform is "Show your scars". As a television news anchor, I was taught to do everything possible to hide my imperfections, showing the viewers only the very best of who I was. I spent over 30 years in the public eye doing just that. Then I was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma, and of all places, it was on my face. The one place I couldn't hide from viewers. Through that experience, I came to realize that the things that really make us who we are aren't the honors and awards we receive. Instead, it is our perceived "imperfections" that truly make us inspirational, motivational, and powerful human beings. Our scars can be physical or emotional, but either way, they should be proudly displayed to inspire others. When you see me on stage, you may notice 8 skin cancer scars that I now proudly wear as a cancer survivor.
My #1 priority in life:
My goal is to leave every place I visit and every person I meet better off than before I arrived. I want to encourage, inspire, motivate, and appreciate those who need it the most. I try to live that mantra every single day through my TV show, my podcast, and my dedication to hosting charity events. After 24 years as a TV news anchor in mainstream media, I used my own money to create a TV show called "It's ALL Good!" that features people, places, and companies that are doing positive things in this world. My podcast "Fierce, Feisty and 50+" is devoted to inspiring people over 50 to live a productive and fulfilling life and to continue to make positive contributions to society. My favorite thing to do as reigning queen is to visit children in hospitals to give them inspiration and encouragement.
My description of today's senior woman:
She is fierce, feisty, and fearless. Today's senior woman is confident, in control, and inspired to make a difference. She's CEO of a Fortune 500 company, a stay-at-home grandmother, a community volunteer, an entrepreneur, a marathon runner who just set a new world record, the Commander of the Air National Guard, a quilter, a small business owner, a college president, a clothing designer, or a national pageant title holder. She is whatever and whomever she chooses to be. She is a risk-taker who is not afraid to stand up for what she truly believes in and knows exactly what she stands for. She's less worried about what others say about her than who she knows herself to be. Today's senior woman is just getting started.

My Platform:
Lewy Body Dementia (LBD) Awareness.
Ten years ago, I learned about this unique dementia disease and how important it is for people to understand the early symptoms. It's a devastating disease, and affected families can benefit greatly if they know about the resources and Support Groups the LBD Association provides for individuals, caregivers, and families.
My #1 priority in life:
My health. Doing what I can to stay strong and healthy ensures I can enjoy life and "be there" for my husband, daughter, friends, family, and community.
My description of today's senior woman:
Incredibly lucky, dedicated, knowledgeable, and giving. She benefits from the work of previous generations and continues to pave the path for the next. She is health-conscious and a lifelong learner. She's vital, relevant, strong, and resilient.
